Thank you for your insights on the advantages of EHRs in healthcare. I concur with you that EHRs are beneficial within the healthcare sector in that they enhance the quality of care provided, offer more accurate information, and enhance efficiency by not only saving time but also cost. Also, I would like to add the following advantages of EHRs in healthcare facilities. First, EHR adoption by healthcare facilities leads to increased revenue. As Dugar (2024) postulates, due to the accuracy associated with electronic records and ease in identifying discrepancies and correcting them in time, EHRs facilitate sped-up insurance claim reimbursements. In this case, no payments to the healthcare facilities are lost or delayed, which contributes to increased revenue for the facilities (HealthIT.gov, 2024). Unlike traditional paper records, EHRs facilitate reduced rejection rates for insurance claims.

Additionally, EHRs are easily accessible compared to traditional paper records. According to Dugar (2024), an authorized user of the records needs to log in to a patient’s portal from any internet-enabled device and location for them to access the records. In this case, due to enhanced accessibility, healthcare providers can respond to patient queries from anywhere and in time. Thus, improving on efficiency and quality of care provided to patients.
