Worship is the veneration of a supernatural power or a supreme entity. Almost all faiths have two major modes of worship: communal worship and individual worship. Worshipping in a group entails going to places of worship and gathering with others. Individuals perform this type of worship by congregating in churches, shrines, or their preferred location. Worshipping in solitude is a form of worship that occurs in private. Some people prefer to worship alongside others because it promotes unity among believers. Those who favor isolation claim that worshipping alone is beneficial due to the privacy it provides. Worshipping together brings together believers and fosters hope.

Why Worshiping with Others is Better

Each religion has its own set of laws that each believer must closely adhere to, and worshipping alone increases the likelihood of breaching the commandments, which can lead to religious disagreement. To avoid such problems, members of a particular religion should worship together because the chances of breaking the rules are low. For instance, the Islamic religion often requires its adherents to fast; a solitary worshiper is at a higher risk of not fulfilling this obligation (Eastes, 2019). Worship focuses on an individual's spiritual being. Spiritually powerful people can aid those who are spiritually weak by worshipping with them. 
Worshipping together can help Christians understand their religion better, especially new believers. A new believer might benefit from worshipping alongside others in order to understand more about the faith. For example, one can gain a deeper understanding of religion by seeking clarification and explanations from fellow believers who have firsthand experience with it (Srock, 2023). If a new believer chooses to worship alone, the chances of learning more about the religion are slim. We cannot overlook the vital feature of unity in religion. Worshipping together is one way to promote it; congregating as believers strengthens religious unity since believers get to know one another better. Gathering with other Christians for worship can enhance individuals' self-esteem. Interacting with people during worship instills confidence in an individual, resulting in increased self-esteem. By worshipping together, individuals might learn a variety of social virtues, including respect. These principles, which are critical to religion and society, may be learned from our fellow believers. It instills confidence in believers in a particular religion. Gathering for worship assures people of their shared mission.

The Bible instructs Christians to worship with others. Hebrews 20:25 commands Christians to gather and worship. Christians should worship together as one way to follow God's mandate. Furthermore, Christians believe that when people worship together, the Holy Spirit presents itself to teach and inspire them. It gives hope to people who are feeling hopeless, since they can receive encouragement and support from other Christians. Individuals face a variety of challenges that can make them hopeless, including illness, broken relationships, and a lack of funds. The prayers and worship that a large number of people engage in are considered by many to be more potent than individual prayers and worship. The tremendous sense of oneness and common spiritual power that engulfs all who participate in these group devotions makes it inevitable. The group's deep energy remains inside, united by a common goal, while its collective longing expresses itself to the universe as a single voice (Eastes, 2019).  People form an unbreakable link with each other and the spiritual as they become immersed in the fight itself. This immense collective amplifies the force and efficacy of prayers, making them extremely valuable. The emergence of a shared awareness of prayer and worship as a means of connecting with one another is a hopeful indicator that light can break through the darkness of the world's social fabric, spreading kindness and becoming a force for positive change.

In conclusion, communal worship does not guarantee that members will not violate religious regulations; rather, it merely reduces the likelihood that such occurrences will transpire. We should encourage individuals or believers to venerate together, as this promotes religious unity. They should adhere to one of a religion's tenets, such as Christianity, which is to engage in communal worship. Sitting in solitude to worship can provide numerous benefits for believers. It affords adherents, for instance, privacy. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the best form of worship, as strongly advised by numerous religious traditions. Nevertheless, every religion and person has a unique method of worship that suits them. It is preferable, as Christians, to encourage others to participate in communal worship, as doing so boosts one's self-esteem and provides an opportunity to interact with others.
