Thus, social workers should prioritize cultural humility and competency when engaging with hostile individuals or communities. Your experience dealing with diverse populations has shown the importance of those qualities for creating a comfortable and trusting environment where clients can be understood and respected. Through this practice, social workers build a bond of genuine understanding and respect with clients from different cultural backgrounds (Kisrt-Ashman & Hull, 2018). This practice, in turn, enhances the quality of the entire assessment process. Having that type of relationship and giving a comprehensive assessment is necessary to design and implement an intervention plan that meets the needs of individuals or groups.
