While practicing the noble nursing profession, my individual philosophies include tender, patient-centered, and constantly evolving care. Nursing, to me, is simply the compassion, time, and commitment one pays to his/her patient alongside a continuous quest to learn.

As a profession, nursing is both a science and an art focused on improving health, preventing diseases, and relieving suffering. My philosophy has five principles, and the first one is patient-centered care that recognizes and respects the patient, his or her physical, emotional, and spiritual being. According to Šip et al. (2023), the organization I want would have a culture that fosters appreciation and respect for patients as the ultimate decision-makers.

View of Health

As for health understanding, I share the opinion of the World Health Organization, which defines health as the lack of diseases and the presence of physical, mental, and social conditions (World Health Organization, 2022). Health is more than well-being; every person can attain a kind of existence that they consider worthwhile.

Growth in Critical Thinking

Throughout my nursing education, I have learned to think critically to analyze and solve clinical problems. Through my academic training, I have acquired critical and analytical thinking skills for solving multifaceted health problems and arriving at sound and informed conclusions when formulating and implementing care plans to promote the patient's overall health.

Future Role as a Nurse

Future goals will include pursuing [nursing specialty, e.g., pediatrics, ICU] to make a difference. I also believe in continued education and professional development, and I aim to contribute to nursing practice, practice development, and nurse education through research and knowledge sharing. The nurse's position encompasses a nurse as a career and an educator, a fighter for patients' rights, and a changer in the healthcare industry.

Conclusion

I espouse the personal nursing philosophy of compassion and comprehensiveness in client care. As a professional nurse, my top priorities are creating and preserving healthcare and personal development.
