Inflation refers to the increased general price level of goods and services in an economy without a corresponding increase in their value. It can touch almost all sectors, including the health sector. In nursing practice, inflation affects the functionality, cost of human resources, and quality of treatment patients receive. Operating costs, such as expenses incurred on medical equipment, instruments, and medicines, tend to rise significantly. The price puts pressure on hospitals' financial capabilities to cut costs, which will likely negatively impact the quality of patient services. Moreover, inflation becomes a barrier to professional development because one has to spend more to take courses or training. There is a need to make appropriate financial decisions on the side of the healthcare facilities and properly formulate economic policies since nurses play great roles in ensuring public health.
