However, the general effect of technology remains debatable, since it has not only numerous advantages but also severe disadvantages. Technology positively affects different aspects of human lives, especially communication, well-being, business, and education, while it also impacts human health, employment, and the environment negatively.

Most people consider technological inventions to be advantageous. For instance, a study by the Pew Research Center showed that 52% of Americans believe that technology has led to mostly positive changes, with only 8% of Americans reporting negative impacts (Funk, Kennedy, & Sciupac, 2016). Firstly, digital technology has enhanced communication, making it much faster with such inventions as video chat and online translations. The letter allows people to receive the most recent news about political or social changes, react to them, and influence the situation immediately. Secondly, technologies positively impact the medical sphere because they help scientists create vaccines, medications, and necessary medical devices such as MRIs, and perform advanced surgical procedures more easily and successfully. Medical workers around the world can also share their latest findings much quickly, which makes nursing and healthcare one of the fastest-evolving spheres and results in an increasing number of saved lives each year. Therefore, permanent developments in technology improve people’s social life and well-being.

The rapid technological development also positively impacted the spheres of business and education. Automation and data analysis have become more efficient in business and industry, helping people to generate new products and even create new employment in technological fields. New applications enable employees to complete their tasks more efficiently and collaboratively, regardless of their location and work type, which in turn empowers the economy. Besides the obvious advantages of the technology for businesses, today, it plays a vital role in the education process. Education has become more accessible and convenient for numerous people who can take any course needed to raise their current qualifications or earn a degree from any institution online. Moreover, students have access to digital libraries, recorded lectures, and collaborative tools, which make their learning process easier and more interactive while also allowing them to be flexible. Thus, education and professional development have been extended to many people who were initially not able to access them due to technological limitations.

More adverse consequences of implementing innovative technologies in diverse spheres manifest themself in the economic and environmental sectors.
